You have to stop Here

Located North on 285 at Tesuque Pueblo about 6 miles North of Santa Fe New Mexico lies one of the most unique land formations in the World. The Camel Rock was once a rest stop just before you get to Santa Fe from Northern New Mexico. As kids we loved to stop there and try to figure out how to climb this rock formation that looks like a Camel, not only is there a face of a Camel but also has the big hump on the back. This is truly one of Natures great Land Marks. To preserve the landmark Tesuque Pueblo has put a fence around it so you cannot go up to the Camel neck like you could when I was little. They build a path and put a wall where you can view it. Some of the great views are from the High way. Not only do you have views of the Camel Rock to look at you also have views of the Mountains, the Valley and the Camel Rock Casino across the highway.

The Camel Rock Land Mark is one of my favorite Rest Stops ever. Its not really the greatest rest stop but the scenery is great. You have the mountains, some hills and a great view of the valley all in front of you in one place. The more you look at the Camel Rock the more it looks like a camel. I got several photo shot for you to see its true beauty. I have lots of photos for you I hope you enjoy.

Take a Ride of the Camels Back

I hope you enjoyed my photos and next time you come to Santa Fe make sure you take a quick trip to see the Camel Rock for yourself. Take your camera and show your friends this is one unique rock formation they have to see to believe.
